If you are a person who is interested in anything related to ear piercings, stick around because we are giving you the basic things to know.
Types of Ear Piercing
Earlobe
This is the standard and most common of all types of ear piercing. It is a single hole in the center of each earlobe. The procedure of this is usually done with a piercing gun or a sharp thin needle and does not usually take long to do.
Gauging
The gauging is also a common modification that is popularly known as stretching. This piercing is done with 18 or 20-gauge needle to make the hole big enough to put a hole-like piercing jewelry.
Cartilage
A cartilage piercing is also common, like the gauging, in this new era. The cartilage is the one forming the transparent tissue found in the upper part of the ear. That part of the ear is the only area, aside from the earlobes, to be legally pierced with a piercing gun.
Industrial
This type of ear piercing is having two holes that will be connected with a single piece of jewelry called barbell. It is made in the Cartilage as well, with one hole closer to the head and the other in the outer rim.
Tragus
The Tragus is the ear piercing made in the thick oval of cartilage that is found directly in front of the ear canal. When buying jewelry for this, it is a must to know the length of it, as not everyone has the same thickness of his or her Tragus.
Anti-Tragus
As the name itself explains, the anti-tragus is directly opposite of the tragus, along on the outer ear and above the earlobe.
These mentioned are just one of the few, but the most commonly done and seen around this day and age.
